New Jersey police officer catches 1-month-old child dropped off balcony

A New Jersey police officer safely caught a one-month-old baby dropped off a second-floor balcony over the weekend, authorities mentioned.

The Hudson County prosecutor’s workplace mentioned Officer Eduardo Matute was amongst these known as to the Jersey Metropolis residence Saturday morning after experiences {that a} man was threatening the infant.

Metropolis spokesperson Kimberly Wallace-Scalcione mentioned the kid was taken to the hospital as a precaution. Mayor Steve Fulop later posted a photograph on social media of the officer holding the kid, who was wrapped in a white blanket.

“Fortunately the infant wasn’t harmed bodily,” Fulop mentioned.

Wallace-Scalcione mentioned the person who dropped the infant was instantly arrested and expenses are pending.
