Maryland Del. Neil Parrott has defeated former journalist Matthew Foldi and his different Republican main challengers within the race to signify Maryland’s Sixth Congressional District within the Home.
Following the 2020 census, Maryland Republican Gov. Larry Hogan accepted a brand new congressional map within the state. The brand new boundaries for the Sixth District, which stretches from Germantown by Cumberland, supplied Republicans with a chance to achieve floor within the state.
Six GOP candidates — together with Parrott, Matthew Foldi, Colt Black, Jonathan Jenkins, Robert Poissonnier, and Mariela Roca — confronted off for the Republican nomination to signify the district.
The winner of Tuesday’s main election will face off towards Democratic Rep. David Trone, the district’s present member within the Home, who received his personal main Tuesday. Foldi, a former investigative journalist for the Washington Free Beacon, obtained endorsements from Home Minority Chief Kevin McCarthy, R-Calif., Home GOP Convention chairwoman Elise Stefanik, R-N.Y., Maryland GOP Gov. Larry Hogan, Donald Trump Jr., and former Secretary of State Mike Pompeo.
Parrot, a former eagle scout and present State Delegate in Maryland’s Common Meeting, obtained endorsements from The Washington Put up, the Conservative Political Motion Coalition, and Rep. Andy Harris, R-Md. Previous to redistricting, Parrott ran to signify the sixth District in 2020 and was defeated by Trone within the common election.

Forward of the first election, Parrott advised Fox Information Digital he was not involved with the “out of state” endorsements Foldi had obtained.
The sixth District now consists of all of Frederick County with Western Maryland.
