Customs and Border Patrol officers seize $18.6M in meth at Texas entry level: ‘Distinctive drug bust’

Officers on the south Texas border seized over $18.6 million in methamphetamine throughout an inspection on the Laredo Port of Entry on Tuesday, U.S. Customs and Border Safety introduced Saturday.

A CBP discipline officer assigned to the World Commerce Bridge referred a 2010 Worldwide Professional Star tractor-trailer carrying paint buckets for secondary inspection when it tried to make entry on the port.

After a canine inspection and a non-intrusive inspection system examination, 2,033 kilos of meth was found inside the cargo and seized by authorities.

Customs and Border Safety stated the medication had a mixed road worth of $18,694,838.

Laredo Port of Entry Port Director Albert Flores stated officers on the entry level have “heightened their enforcement technique” to assist disrupt the move of lethal, high-risk narcotics from coming into the U.S.
