British lawmaker dies after stabbing assault, police say

LONDON — David Amess, a member of the U.Ok. Parliament, has died after being stabbed a number of occasions on Friday at a church in southeast England.

The assault occurred on the Belfairs Methodist Church in Leigh-on-Sea, within the county of Essex. Sky Information reported {that a} man had walked into his constituency workplace and stabbed him a number of occasions.

Essex Police said that an individual had been arrested following the incident, and confirmed {that a} man had died.

Amess, a member of Boris Johnson’s ruling Conservative Get together, represented the Southend West constituency and was first elected to Parliament to symbolize Basildon in 1983.

Former U.Ok. Prime Minister David Cameron known as the assault “devastating, horrific and tragic information.”

Former Conservative Get together chief Iain Duncan Smith stated his ideas had been along with his household.
