Wild Elephant ‘Laden’ Alias ‘Krishna’ Dies In Captivity

‘Laden’ alias ‘Krishna’, the wild elephant which was tranquilized lately has died in captivity on the Orang Nationwide Park in Assam’s Darrang district on Sunday, November 17.

The elephant was captured, after tranquilizing from Rongjuli forest division in Assam’s Goalpara district on November 11.

The wild elephant which killed a number of individuals up to now couple of months and terrorised a number of areas in Assam’s Goalpara district was captured by a staff led by Sootea MLA Padma Hazarika at Rongjuli forest space in Goalpara district.

Whereas locals had named the elephant as Laden, the forest division later renamed the elephant as ‘Krishna’ after he was captured and shifted it to Orang Nationwide Park on November 12.

After being tranquilised, earlier, it was determined that the elephant can be let loose in wild, however the determination was later withdrawn by the forest division after the locals protested in opposition to it.

In accordance with a report by IANS, the Assam authorities had already despatched a staff of skilled veterinarians to hold out a postmortem on the lifeless elephant to determine the reason for its loss of life.
