TSA canine handler rescues groundhog from Washington Dulles Worldwide Airport runway

A Transportation Safety Administration canine handler lately rescued a groundhog from the busy tarmac of Washington Dulles Worldwide Airport. 

TSA Explosives Detection Canine Handler Shelby Tibbs had noticed the creature working across the airport runway whereas ending a spherical of coaching with Dux, a German Brief-Haired Pointer.

Tibbs, involved for the animal’s security, drove over to select up the groundhog. He mentioned the animal gave the impression to be affected by the warmth. 

“It was actually sizzling that day and the tarmac felt like greater than 100 levels” with the index, Tibbs mentioned, in accordance with TSA.

“I feel he wished to catch a flight to someplace chilly as a result of it was extremely popular that day. I assume he couldn’t purchase a ticket,” Tibbs quipped. “However he was an excellent passenger whereas we drove to the close by creek.”

Since that episode, airport personnel has reportedly dubbed Tibbs the “Groundhog Whisperer.”
