A pilot was rescued Friday after a small banner airplane crashed within the waters off Southern California.
The crash was captured on video by a beachgoer, which reveals the plane touchdown in Huntington Seaside round 1:30 p.m. A number of individuals, together with lifeguards, had been seen dashing into the ocean to help the pilot, who was unhurt.
The crash occurred throughout the 2022 California Surf Lifesaving Affiliation Junior Lifeguard Championship, the group stated.

“The course was on a break in any other case it could have landed whereas opponents had been racing in it,” a spokesperson for the occasion tweeted.
The Huntington Seaside Hearth Division stated the airplane was carrying a banner over the seaside. Video captured by Fox Los Angeles reveals individuals carrying a protracted banner out of the water.
The reason for the crash remains to be unknown. The plane appeared to stay largely intact on the shore.
