Oregon lady wielding machete and ax tried to kidnap boy, police say
A machete- and ax-wielding Oregon lady was arrested Sunday after trying to kidnap a 6-year-old boy, threatening his mother and father with the weapons and hurling racial slurs on the household, authorities stated.
Elizabeth A. Zurcher-Wooden, 37, approached a household that was ready in line outdoors a pizzeria simply earlier than four p.m. in downtown Portland, the Portland Police Bureau stated.

Zurcher-Wooden advised the household that she needed to take the boy and lunged at him, based on police. When the household tried to again away and threw objects at Zurcher-Wooden to maintain her again, police stated the suspect threatened them with the bladed weapons and used racial slurs earlier than operating away.
Officers have been alerted to the tried kidnapping and responded to Southwest third Avenue and West Burnside Road. After being warned the suspect had a machete and an ax, officers discovered Zurcher-Wooden just a few blocks away.

Zurcher-Wooden cooperated with officers and was arrested. The machete and ax present in her possession have been seized as proof, police stated.
Zurcher-Wooden was booked into the Multnomah County Detention Middle on prices of second-degree kidnapping, three counts of second-degree bias, illegal use of a weapon, second-degree disorderly conduct and menacing.
