Nagpur: The Union Ministry of Micro, Small and Medium Enterprises (MSME) will begin a pilot undertaking to assist prisoners arrange enterprise, a senior official stated on Sunday.
Director MSME Improvement Institute (Nagpur) PM Parlewar stated the pilot undertaking would begin in Nagpur Central Jail.
“There are about 4 lakh prisoners in India. When they come out of jail, their acceptance level in society is less in terms of employment,” he stated.
“We are going to assist them begin new small-scale companies.
We are going to help them in manufacturing agarbatti, clothes, woodwork, fabrication, making kulhads and so forth,” he added.
