Union Cabinet Okays Bill To Protect Women’s Reproductive Rights

New Delhi: The Union Cupboard on Wednesday authorised the ‘Assisted Reproductive Technology Regulation Bill 2020’, meant to guard ladies’s reproductive rights.

Calling it “historic Bill”, Ladies and Youngster Improvement Minister Smriti Irani stated that the Invoice aimed for the welfare of ladies within the nation because it proposes legislation to determine a nationwide registry.

“A national board and the state board will be set up to help implement the legal framework. A central database of clinics and banks will also be established,” Irani stated, including these indulging in embryo sale and trafficking might be fined and even put behind bars as per the provisions of the invoice.

The Invoice is anticipated to be launched in Parliament within the subsequent section of the Finances session which is able to begin on March 2 and proceed until April 3. Irani stated that the federal government has taken varied path-breaking steps to guard ladies’s reproductive rights.
