Trump Exits COVID-19 Briefing After Shooting Outside White House

Washington: US President Donald Trump was quickly escorted by a Secret Service agent from an ongoing coronavirus briefing after a taking pictures was reported outdoors the White Home.

“There was an actual shooting, and somebody has been taken to the hospital. I don’t know the condition of the person,” the president mentioned after he returned to the White Home briefing room minutes later, Xinhua information company reported on Monday.

“It seems to be very well under control,” Trump mentioned. “It was the suspect that was shot.”

Nobody else was injured, based on the president, including that he was taken to the Oval Workplace when he was evacuated.

Trump had been mid-sentence through the first try on the briefing when the Secret Service agent got here into the room and requested him to go away.

A senior administration official instructed CNN the taking pictures occurred simply outdoors of the White Home grounds near Lafayette Sq. and the shooter is in custody.
