Sonia Asks BJP To Follow ‘Rajdharma’, Protect Farmers’ Interest

New Delhi: Congress President Sonia Gandhi on Saturday requested the BJP authorities within the centre to comply with its “rajdharma” and shield farmers’ curiosity who, she stated, have been being pressured to promote their produce in varied ‘mandis’ at a worth 22.5 p.c decrease than the MSP and are heading to undergo a lack of Rs 50,000 crore.

She accused the BJP authorities of reneging on their promise of offering 50 per cent plus the minimal assist costs to farmers on their produce.

“Why are the farmers not getting remunerative prices for their produce of Kharif crops like Toor, Udhad, Moong, Soyabean, Sunflower, Jawar, Bajra and Ragi? What is their fault? The farmers are getting Rs 200 less than the minimum support price of Rs 1,835 per quintal. Why so?” requested Gandhi.

She stated a complete of 140.57 million tonnes of Kharif manufacturing is predicted in 2019-20.
