New Delhi: President Ram Nath Kovind on Sunday gave assent to a few contentious farm payments which have triggered protests by farmers particularly in Punjab and Haryana.
In accordance with a gazette notification, the President gave assent to a few payments: The Farmers’ Produce Commerce and Commerce (Promotion and Facilitation) Invoice, 2020, The Farmers (Empowerment and Safety) Settlement of Value Assurance and Farm Providers Invoice, 2020, and The Important Commodities (Modification) Invoice 2020.
The Farmers’ Produce Commerce and Commerce (Promotion and Facilitation) Invoice, 2020 goals to allow the sale of agricultural produce outdoors the mandis regulated by the Agricultural Produce Advertising and marketing Committees (APMC) constituted by completely different state legislations.
The Farmers (Empowerment and Safety) Settlement of Value Assurance and Farm Providers Invoice, 2020, supplies for contract farming.
