Jan. 6 rioter ‘QAnon Shaman’ Jacob Chansley secures early launch from jail to midway home, lawyer says

Jacob Chansley, the Navy veteran and Jan. 6, 2021 rioter dubbed the “QAnon Shamn” for his notorious horned costume, has been launched from jail to a midway home, in accordance with his lawyer. 

“For the document: Jake is out on schedule,” Chansley’s lawyer Invoice Shipley tweeted early Thursday morning. 

“I advised him 16 months in the past in our first dialog it could be Feb. or Mar. 2023,” Shipley stated. “BOP [Federal Bureau of Prisons] math. I didn’t do something extraordinary–this was at all times the schedule, I simply understood it and will clarify it to him. He was anticipating 12 extra mos.”

U.S. Bureau of Prisons information state Chansley’s present location as RRM Phoenix, an administrative workplace that gives oversight of midway homes in Arizona and southern Nevada.

Federal Decide Royce Lamberth sentenced Chansley to 41 months in jail in November 2021. 

In a prolonged speech at his sentencing listening to, Chansley stated he was “mistaken for getting into the Capitol” and didn’t excuse his actions.

“I’m on no account, form or kind a violent legal… no means a home terrorist,” Chansley stated. “I am a very good man who broke the regulation. … I’m really repentant for my actions.”

Chansley’s trial lawyer, Albert Watkins, stated he was happy together with his former shopper’s launch.

“I applaud the choice of the U.S. Bureau of Prisons on this regard,” he added.

Shipley, who represents greater than 25 Jan. 6 defendants, stated that Chansley will touch upon the matter “when it’s the proper time to take action.”
