Iran once more threatens to assassinate Pompeo: ‘Dwell in concern’

Iran is threatening a doable assassination try on former Secretary of State Mike Pompeo, with high-profile Twitter accounts posting inflammatory messages in opposition to him.

Pompeo, now a Fox Information contributor, has been extremely important of Iran each whereas serving within the Trump administration and after. He was in workplace when U.S. forces killed Iranian army chief Qassem Soleimani, whose daughter is now threatening the previous secretary of state.

“[P]ompeo whines about Iran on Saudi TV. Residence of 9/11 plotters,” Zainab Soleimani tweeted Friday, including, “Dwell in concern liar.” The tweet included a picture depicting Pompeo in a cage.

Soleimani’s message was repeated in Arabic two days later by a Twitter account affiliated with the Iranian authorities. That account tagged Zainab Soleimani, referring to her because the daughter of the “martyr” Qassem Soleimani. That put up featured a picture of Pompeo with crosshairs on his head and flames coming from under.

A supply near Pompeo acknowledged the menace.

“Mike took motion as Secretary of State to save lots of American lives and defend American pursuits, and Iranians are actively trying to answer the actions in opposition to Soleimani,” the supply stated.

Pompeo isn’t the one former U.S. official in Iran’s sights. Trump administration Iran envoy Brian Hook can also be going through a “severe and credible” menace from Iran, in line with a State Division report back to Congress obtained and reported on by the Washington Free Beacon.

The State Division advised the outlet that makes an attempt on the lives of present or former American officers could be met with “extreme penalties.”
