Nepal Prohibits All Indian Media Except Doordarshan

New Delhi: Nepal has banned all Indian information channels, besides DD Information, for alleged propaganda towards the nation.

Stories say that Nepal cable operators have stopped getting indicators of Indian information channels.

Nepal authorities spokesperson Yuvaraj Khatiwada mentioned: “We request all not to disseminate news that infringes sovereignty and self-respect of Nepalis. This includes the media of neighbouring countries. We might seek both political and legal remedies.”

Earlier, Nepal has amended its map which present some Indian territory as a part of it.

Nepal’s parliament on June 13 adopted unanimously the Structure Modification Invoice, paving the best way for accommodating the up to date political-administrative map, which incorporates Indian areas of Kalapani, Lipulekh and Limpiyadhura, in its image.

Nonetheless, this controversial modification comes within the backdrop of India’s deteriorating ties with Nepal over Nepal’s alteration of its nationwide map. The inclusion of those disputed territories by way of parliamentary modification has already created crack in relationship.
