Meghalaya To Keep All Entry Points Closed From July 24 To 31

The Meghalaya authorities has determined to shut all entry factors of the state from July 24 to 31.

Meghalaya Chief Minister Conrad Sangma introduced that to unburden the well being, frontline employees and district administration engaged in intensive surveillance for the previous 4 months, the federal government has taken the step. The state has six entry points-Byrnihat, Ratacherra, Bajengdoba, Tikrikilla, Mirjumla and Hallidayganj.

“To unburden our health, frontline workers and district administration engaged in intensive surveillance for the past four months, the government has decided to close all entry points of the state (Byrnihat, Ratacherra, Bajengdoba, Tikrikilla, Mirjumla & Hallidayganj) from 24th-31st July 2020,” stated CM Sangma.


“Only emergency, medical services, essential commodities and transit movement of Assam vehicles will be allowed,” he added.

This era can be used to shift the entry level of Byrnihat to a brand new location for the graceful motion of individuals and automobiles. The entry factors will reopen from August 1.

The choice got here a day after Meghalaya Deputy Chief Minister Prestone Tynsong stated that the lockdown imposed in Shillong won’t be prolonged additional, as contact-tracing in recognized clusters has been accomplished. The lockdown was imposed within the Shillong on July 13 and 14.
