The Meghalaya authorities has determined to impose lockdown in areas within the state that are bordering Guwahati because of the surge in COVID-19 instances in Assam.
Lockdown shall be imposed in areas like Byrnihat, Jorabat until Khanapara.
Meghalaya Chief Minister Conrad Sangma took to Twitter to share the federal government’s determination.
“Government has decided that the locations in Meghalaya bordering Guwahati i.e Byrnihat, Jorabat till Khanapara will be under #lockdown due to the surge in #Covid_19 cases in #Assam,” the chief minister mentioned.
“Inter-state movement continues to be restricted. DC will issue necessary orders accordingly,” Sangma added.

It’s to be talked about that 327 new COVID-19 constructive instances had been detected in Assam on Sunday. Out of those, 195 instances had been reported from Guwahati metropolis.
