Manipuri Girl Chanchui Khayi Wins K-Pop India Contest 2020 In Solo Competition

19-year-old Chanchui Khayi from Manipur’s Ukhrul district received the first-ever digital solo singing competitors class on the Okay-Pop India contest 2020.

Whereas 20-year-old Vidisenuo Belho from Nagaland’s Kohima was adjudged first runner-up within the solo singing competitors class.

The occasion was organised by the Korean Cultural Centre India in partnership with ‘The Embassy of Republic of Korea’, Korean Tourism Organisation, and sponsered by Korean manufacturers – Samsung, Limese and Innisfree.

Chanchui carried out the music ‘Eight’ by IU Ft Suga, whereas Vidisenuo carried out ‘Can you see my Heart’ by Heize.

Hailing from Manipur’s Teinem village, Chanchui at the moment pursuing her research in Delhi.

The winners and runners up in each the classes from India will get an opportunity to go to South Korea solely when the COVID-19 scenario improves.
