LeT Militant Killed In Kupwara Encounter Identified As Pakistani: J&K Police

Srinagar: A militant who was killed in an encounter in Jammu and Kashmir’s Kupwara district together with a high Lashkar-e-Toiba (LeT) commander was recognized as a Pakistani extremely, police on Thursday stated.

Kumar on Wednesday had stated that one of many slain militants was LeT commander Naseer-u-din Lone, who was concerned in killing of three CRPF jawans at Sopore on April 18 and one other three CRPF jawans at Handwara on Might Four this yr.

He stated an AK-47 rifle, which was snatched from a CRPF jawan after the assault at Vangam Handwara on Might 4, was recovered from Lone. This proved his involvement within the killing of the three CRPF jawans, he stated on Thursday.

Killing of Lone and Danish is a giant achievement for the forces, the IGP Kashmir stated.

The Kashmir Zone Police on its official Twitter web page uploaded a CCTV seize purportedly exhibiting Lone firing on CRPF jawans at Aahad Baba Chowk in Sopore on April 18. The police wrote “justice done” on August 19 within the tweet.

The encounter at Ganipora Kralgund space of Handwara in north Kashmir’s Kupwara district began after safety forces cordoned off the world and launched a search operation.

The encounter was the second such operation on Wednesday. Earlier within the day, safety forces killed two militants in Shopian district in south Kashmir.
