Bhubaneswar: The Indian Railways on Saturday issued a clarification on media experiences that provision of issuing waitlisted tickets will likely be discontinued.
In a press release, the Indian Railways said that, “Efforts are being made to increase the capacity to make berths available on demand. This would reduce the possibility of passengers getting waitlisted. There is no plan do away with the provision of issuing waitlisted tickets.”
Such clarification comes within the backdrop of sure media experiences which advised that Railways has claimed that there can be no ready checklist with impact from 2024 and solely confirmed tickets can be obtainable.
The Indian Railways need to make clear that wait checklist is a provision that is still each time the demand for vacationers in a given prepare is greater than the variety of berths or seats obtainable.

Earlier it was reported by some sections within the media that the Indian Railways in its Nationwide Rail Plan goals to offer confirmed rail tickets to each passengers implying that there will likely be no waitlisted tickets.
As per official sources, the Nationwide Rail Plan will likely be a typical platform for all future infrastructural, enterprise and monetary planning of the Railways. The Indian Railways intention to finalise the Last plan by January 2021.
