New Delhi: India’s first Components 1 driver Narain Karthikeyan will lead an all-Indian workforce on the 2021 Asian Le Mans Sequence in February 2021. Racing Group India is the primary workforce to compete internationally in endurance racing with an all-Indian line-up and whereas it has confirmed its entry at Asian Le Mans, it has set its eyes on the celebrated 24 Hours of Le Mans in France later within the 12 months.
Karthikeyan can be accompanied by endurance racer Arjun Maini, who has simply come off a season off the 2020 European Le Mans Sequence with Algarve Professional Racing, and Naveen Rao, who’s the reigning IMSA Prototype Problem champion.
The workforce will drive an ORECA 07 automobile within the LMP2 class, and have technical assist from Algarve Professional Racing Group.
The Asian Le Mans Sequence, to be held on the Yas Marina Circuit in Abu Dhabi on February 5-6 and February 19-20, includes 4 races unfold over the 2 race weekends, with every race lasting 4 hours.
Karthikeyan has the expertise of competing at Le Mans, having pushed for the Kolles Audi workforce within the 2009 European Le Mans sequence.
“I have been dreaming of going back to Le Mans for a few years now. This is probably the most exciting project in my career as a racing driver,” Karthikeyan stated within the workforce’s assertion.
“We have a young and fledgling team and it will no doubt be a big test for us, but I am confident of doing well.”
