New Delhi: The Military on Thursday started recruitment drives for the primary batch of girls troopers, who will probably be inducted in non-combat roles. Rallies have been held in varied cantonments together with these in Lucknow and Shillong.
The Military is conducting a range check for the primary batch of 100 ladies troopers to be taken into the Corps of Navy Police.
Military officers stated ladies candidates from West Bengal, Odisha and Sikkim attended the rally in Shillong which is being performed over two days. Candidates from Uttar Pradesh and Uttarakhand attended the rally in Lucknow.
In line with officers, candidates chosen within the rallies must efficiently clear a written check too as a way to qualify for coaching.
The induction will happen in March 2021 after the batch of chosen candidates full a 61-week-long coaching course.
“Batches comprising similar numbers of soldiers will be trained and commissioned every year. The cadre of women soldiers in the Corps of Military Police will be maintained at a fixed number of 1,700. This number will be achieved by filling the corps in batches,” stated a senior Military official.
Within the Corps of Navy Police, ladies troopers will take up duties of policing cantonments and different Military institutions. The ladies troopers may also work in co-operation with police forces of assorted states in addition to the centre apart from dealing with prisoners of struggle and upkeep of guidelines. They may also examine instances of crime.
At current, ladies within the Military work solely in areas like engineering, medical, authorized, alerts and academic wings.
