FDA approves lab-grown ‘GOOD Meat’ hen product, second such authorization in US

The U.S. Meals and Drug Administration (FDA) issued a “no questions” response to GOOD Meat, marking the corporate’s lab-grown hen product fit for human consumption.

“We’ve no questions at the moment relating to GOOD Meat’s conclusion that meals comprised of or containing cultured hen cell materials [are] as protected as comparable meals produced by different strategies,” the FDA mentioned in a March 20 letter to the corporate.

The FDA’s letter “clears an important step in bringing GOOD Meat to eating places and retail within the US,” GOOD Meat mentioned in a press release Tuesday, including that it “is now working with the US Division of Agriculture on crucial approvals.”
