The deliberate pension reform will improve gender inequalities, criticises Alyssa Ahrabare, spokesperson for the feminist affiliation Osez le féminisme !, in L’Humanité:
“Ladies’s pensions are already 40 p.c decrease than these of males, and the reform will intensify these inequalities. The extension of the contribution interval to 43 years as of 2027 will penalise above all girls who needed to take a break to lift kids. Much more of them should wait till they’re 67 for the possibility of a full pension. That is unacceptable! In France, the typical pension amongst girls is 1,145 euros gross in comparison with 1,924 euros for males. This hole is the results of two inequalities: in wages and within the length of contributions.”
