Writing in in Peščanik, legislation professor Marko Milanović doubts whether or not Kosovo will be capable of be a part of the UN within the close to future:
“Even when Serbia now explicitly demanded that Russia vote for Kosovo’s admission, I believe Russia would need to wait and use Kosovo’s accession as a pawn in its negotiations with the West, which can happen sooner or later. Briefly, I do not see how Kosovo could possibly be admitted to the UN so long as there isn’t any decision of the Ukrainian-Russian disaster, which I worry remains to be a great distance off. Serbia’s acceptance of the essential settlement wouldn’t make it any extra possible that Kosovo might count on to develop into a UN member inside an affordable time frame.”
