New Delhi: Defence Minister Rajnath Singh on Monday launched an internet portal for issuing no-objection certificates (NOCs) to entities which are enterprise energy tasks and actions associated to analysis, survey, exploration and exploitation within the Indian territorial waters and unique financial zones, in keeping with an official assertion.
“The online system will establish an effective, speedy and transparent mechanism to process these proposals. The ministry has earlier launched a similar portal for grant of NOC for aerial survey,” the assertion mentioned.
Singh, together with Minister of State for Defence Shripad Naik, launched the online portal within the presence of Military Chief Normal M M Naravane, Navy Chief Admiral Karambir Singh, and Air Chief Marshal R Ok S Bhadauria.
Based on guidelines of the United Nations, all areas extending as much as 12 nautical miles from a rustic’s shoreline are its territorial waters (TW). All areas extending as much as 200 nautical miles from a rustic’s shoreline are its unique financial zones (EEZ).
The Defence Ministry mentioned it accords safety clearances to varied personal sector firms, public sector entities and authorities organisations for energy, wind or photo voltaic tasks in “areas nearby defence installations and also RSEE (research, survey, exploration and exploitation) activities in the Indian TW and EEZ for applications” by way of varied different ministries.
It acknowledged the ministries sending purposes for these NOCs are the Ministry of New and Renewable Vitality, Ministry of Energy, Ministry of Petroleum and Pure Gasoline and the Ministry of Transport.
The net portal has been developed with the help of Nationwide e-Governance Division (NeGD), Bhaskaracharya Institute for House Purposes and Geo-informatics (BISAG) and Nationwide Informatics Centre (NIC), the Defence Ministry mentioned.
