Chinese Soldier Detained By India On Espionage Suspicion, To Be Released Soon

New Delh: India detained a Chinese language soldier within the Demchok sector within the disputed border in Jap Ladakh. As per established protocols, he might be returned again to Chinese language officers on the Chushul – Moldo assembly level after completion of formalities.

The soldier, a corporal, is being questioned to determine whether or not he was on an espionage mission.

“A PLA soldier identified as Corporal Wang Ya Long was apprehended in the Demchok sector of Eastern Ladakh on October 19, 2020 after he had strayed across the LAC,” Indian Military in a press release stated.

The Chinese language Folks’s Liberation Military (PLA) soldier informed Indian companies that he had crossed the disputed border to retrieve a yak that had strayed into Indian territory.

“A request has also been received from the PLA about the whereabouts of the missing soldier,” the Indian Military stated.
