Cabinet nod to MoUs in radio, TV

New Delhi: The Union Cupboard right here on Wednesday gave ex-post facto (with retrospective impact) approval for the memorandum of understandings (MoUs) signed between Indian and overseas broadcasters in radio and tv.

The MoUs will assist the general public broadcaster discover new visions and methods to deal with the calls for of latest applied sciences and competitors, media liberalisation and globalisation.

“Broadcasting of programmes to be obtained through mutual exchange, co-production will lead to equity and inclusiveness among viewers and listeners of DD (Doordarshan) and AIR (All India Radio). Exchanges of technical know-how, expertise and training of manpower will help the public broadcaster meet challenges in the field of broadcasting,” mentioned a cupboard assertion.
