
JOHOR BAHRU: A Singaporean bus driver pleaded not responsible in a Johor Bahru courtroom on Friday (Jun 2) to the cost of misappropriating about 500 litres of diesel, a managed merchandise in Malaysia.
Benjamin Low Yong Pang, 24, was charged with breaching the Management of Provides Act for possessing the diesel on a Singapore-registered tour bus.
The offence was allegedly dedicated at a Shell petrol station in Jalan Kempas Baru, a significant freeway in Johor Bahru, at 10am on Tuesday.
Beneath the Management of Provides Act, no individual shall deal by wholesale or retail in any scheduled article or manufacture any scheduled article besides underneath and in accordance with a licence.
If discovered responsible, Low may very well be fined as much as RM1 million (US$218,460) or jailed for no more than three years or each.
Decide Fatimah Zahari allowed bail of RM20,000 with two Malaysian sureties. Low’s subsequent courtroom date was fastened on Jul 6.
