Malaysian MP requires pointers on dog-catching after aged man dies attempting to save lots of pet

KUALA LUMPUR: A Malaysian lawmaker has urged authorities to attract up clear pointers relating to dog-catching operations with a view to stop untoward incidents sooner or later. 

Bentong Member of Parliament (MP) Younger Syefura Othman stated this following the case of an 85-year-old man who allegedly collapsed and died whereas attempting to guard his pet canine from being captured by canine catchers from the Bentong Municipal Council.

In March, a video of a 69-year-old man who was in an altercation with members of the Petaling Jaya Metropolis Council throughout an operation to catch stray canine went viral.   

In keeping with media studies, the person had tried to guard a pack of stray canine from native council officers by letting them into his premises. 

Patrick Khoo was ultimately charged with obstructing public servants from discharging their duties.

He pleaded not responsible to the cost which carries a most sentence of a two-year jail time period or a most positive of RM10,000 (US$2,200).
